You won’t find any iPad-led classes here, oh no! Instead, our experienced instructors deliver personalised, dynamic sessions that keep every class fresh and engaging.

Our Instructors

Our certified team is here to guide, inspire and push you further. Meet our Burn instructors who each bring their own unique style and expertise to each class, making every burn feel different from the last.

Taryn Faustman

Taryn is a Reformer Pilates instructor with 3+ years’ experience, a certified personal trainer, and a dancer of 20 years. Her classes blend strength, balance, and precision, with the odd sweat! Outside the studio, she enjoys wine, burgers and walks with her dog Sunny, who occasionally pops into Burn.

Jodi Tod

Jodi is the original founder of Burn Reformer Pilates, a former Magic and Mystics netballer and mum of three. She discovered Pilates during her sporting career and credits it for keeping her injury-free. She now runs three Burn studios and loves sharing the burn, the shake, and plenty of laughs.

Ashleigh Boote

Over 10 years ago, Ashleigh found her love for Pilates in a boutique Auckland studio. After moving to Papamoa, she discovered Burn Fitness, a space that felt like a second home. Since 2021, she’s been teaching and loving it. Outside the studio, she’s with her dog Archie or enjoying a glass of wine.

Erin Easton

Erin has been teaching Reformer Pilates for three years and loves helping people achieve their goals, whether it’s in a 6am class or a one-on-one session. When she’s not in the studio, you’ll find her mountain biking the Redwoods, hiking, or relaxing with her cat.

Emily Leppard

Emily lives in Papamoa with her husband and their soon-to-arrive first baby. A lover of surfing, hiking, running, and team sports, she’s passionate about Pilates for its challenge, variety, and burn. She thrives on guiding clients to grow stronger and more confident.

Carla Lunas

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Carla has been teaching since 2019 after first training in 2016 to deepen her own Pilates practice. Her classes are slow yet challenging, focusing on control, breath, and mindful movement. Outside the studio, she’s with friends, outdoors, and sipping mate tea.

Our instructors are trained to support all bodies and all backgrounds. We offer modifications, guidance, and encouragement every step of the way, no matter where you're starting from.

For First Timers

What You Should Know Before Your First Class

New here? We’ve got you.


Arrive 10 minutes early so we can show you around, help you get set up, and make sure you feel confident before class starts.
Bring comfy clothes you can move in, a water bottle, sweat towel and grip socks (don’t worry, we have them in-studio if you need some).
We have a few parks right outside the studio (first in first served), otherwise you’ll find parking on Market Place.

Most importantly: come as you are. We’ll meet you there.

Our Classes

BEHIND BURN

Originally from Vancouver, Canada, sisters Alina and Taryn have found their hearts, and their home, in beautiful Papamoa, New Zealand.

After years of travelling the world while working on a major cruise line, this dynamic pair has dropped anchor and planted roots in the sunny Bay of Plenty.

Taryn is the powerhouse behind Burn, leading multiple classes each week with energy, variety, and a whole lot of heart. Her dynamic teaching style means no two classes are ever the same, keeping things fresh and fun for everyone who walks through the door.

Alina is the behind-the-scenes queen, running the admin side of the studio with spreadsheets, checklists, and a whole lot of organisation. She's also the owner of her own wedding planning business, and there’s nothing she loves more than ticking off a to-do list (with colour-coded tabs, of course).

When they’re not busy running the studio, you’ll find them soaking up the sun at the beach, clinking glasses of rosé, and enjoying good times with their nearest and dearest.

Frequently asked questions

We’re here to help! If you’re unsure about anything or just want to chat before booking, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Do I need Pilates experience to join?

Not at all! Our classes are beginner-friendly and our instructors are there to guide you through every move. Whether it's your first time or you're returning to the reformer, you'll be well supported.

What should I bring to class?

Just bring yourself, a water bottle, and grip socks (a must for safety and hygiene). Don’t have grip socks yet? We’ve got some available to purchase in studio.

How many people are in each class?

We keep things small, just six reformers per class. That means more personal attention and a better, safer workout experience.

How do I book a class?

Easy! You can book online via our Class Schedule. Classes fill quickly, so we recommend booking ahead to secure your spot.

What if I need to cancel my class?

Life happens! We have a 12-hour cancellation policy. Just cancel via the booking system to avoid a late fee and free up the spot for someone else.
